Hope and A Few Volunteers

In February 2005, the Hope Region Spirit of BC Community Committee hosted the Second Annual Volunteer Appreciation Night.

"We recognized that volunteers are a vital part of our community early on and we wanted to acknowledge it," said Kate Zabell, Co-chair for the Hope Region Spirit of BC Community Committee.

They had volunteers from 11 communities attend the event along with some important names such as local MP Chuck Strahl and 2010 Legacies Now Volunteer Director, Mary MacKillop.

The successful event was titled "Creating a Dream" and featured hundreds of volunteer-made desserts, and musical entertainment from local youth, once again, volunteering their wonderful talents and time for their community. Volunteer appreciation events no matter how small or large always showcase the incredible and dedicated work of volunteers in an atmosphere of gratitude and fun.

Local MP Chuck Strahl attended to congratulate the hard-working volunteers in the Hope Region.

The night of honouring volunteers couldn't have been done without the help of...volunteers!
